It all depends on what you like to do, and what time of year it is, but there are many popular attractions and things to do near The Woods at Wihakowi that are within a short, 15-30 minute drive, and others within a 45 minute -1 hour trip. If you like a more "off the beaten path" approach, there's plenty to choose from, too, and some are quite unusual and fun.

Factory tours are popular in Vermont, with Ben and Jerry's and Cabot being the closest to our location. You can also tour the World's Largest Granite Quarries at Rock of Ages in Barre, and watch the quarriers wrest titan blocks from the earth's depths.

Agriculture made Vermont, and farmers are finding new ways to attract business. Maple sugaring farms like the Morse Farm in Montpelier and orchards such as Cold Hollow Cider Mill on the Waterbury-Stowe Road are fall favorites, and Northfield's own, Ellie's Farm Market and Gift Shop' s Annual Great Green Mountain Pumpkin Show is a free feast for the eyes. During the evenings surrounding Halloween, there are displayed in the woods adjacent to the shop over 1500 carved and lit Jack-O-Lanterns. Knight's Spider Web Farm in Williamstown is a fun and educational treat for anyone, where real spider webs are turned into art.

To satisfy your quest for arts and entertainment, the Barre Opera House is an historic 650 seat theatre in the heart of Barre offering performances and events throughout the year, and Northfield's Paine Mountain Arts Council sponsors music performances and art shows at various locations around town. The Vermont Granite Museum on the Barre-Montpelier Road is a museum dedicated to Vermont's unique granite heritage and a Stone Arts School to train students for industry and art.
